sad news

I'm sad to report that Andrew's father, Rick, passed away late last night. As these things often are, it was both sudden and surprising, and also somewhat anticipated as he has been in poor health.

Prayers and love greatly appreciated.

Andrew is on his way to Nashville, and I am holding down the fort here with the boys for the time being.

We don't know much about anything right now, but will report news as appropriate when we do.

I am exhausted - the news came about 1am, and we left at 4am for the airport, and the boys slept in the car but I did not (as I was driving), so I'm facing a full day having not slept since 1. Meh. Coffee, me thinks, and then a to do list.

Erika, I'm so so sorry. Rick was a lovely man who I enjoyed spending time with every time I had a chance to meet him. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

Em - I got your text, and lol'd (as they say) at the sending of a casserole across the country. I was literally at the grocery store when I got it, thinking "this is why people send food - I can't think right now". You Jewish moms, you know what you're about.

Oh! Guys, I'm so very sorry. I have such fond memories of Rick from your wedding. He was lovely and had a fantastic smile. Erika send my love to Andrew and of course keep some for you and the boys. Let me know if I can do anything.
